يا باشا الشقة شرحة وبرحة, دي فيها ميزانين!

طول عمري باسمع عن الميزانين وأعرف إنها الحتة العليا في محل أو شقة بيستعملوها للتخزين غالبا.

وطول عمري برده كنت فاكر إن اسمها ميزانين عشان حتة عليا وحتة واطية زي كفة الميزان, بس بصراحة عمري ما سألت نفسي اشمعنى ميزانين مش ميزان واحد؟

بعدين اكتشفت الحقيقة المرة, ميزانين أصلها فرنساوي Mezzanine, اللي أصلا جاية من الايطالي Mezzanino اللي بدوره جاي من اللاتيني Medianus أي المتوسط

إعتذار لللهجة و الألفاظ المنحدرة اللي حكتب بيها بس أنا خلاص مش قادر

بعد ما طلع يولول زي النسوان في التلفزيون على مصر و قال قصيدة شعر في مبارك لقيت ناس كاتبة على تويتر إنه حينزل البوم إسمه ٢٥ يناير، طبعا دمي فار و حاولت أدور أونلاين على مصدر يأكد الكلام ده.

قوم إيه بقى، شوف الصدف، لقيت الموقع الرسمي بتاع سي خرا كاتب إنه عنده حفلة في أمستردام في هولندا في هيينيكين كونسرت هال مع هيفاء وهبي يوم ٢٩ يناير!

According to studies, 87% of the people say the word “OK” at least twice a day.

But does anyone know what exactly that word means?or where it originated from? I work with a Greek client (from Greece ya3ny balash gahl ) then i find him writing the word “Ola Kala” in many occasions.

So i decided to google it up and check what it means; as i did not want to look like an ignorant. So the word “Ola Kala” in greek means “Everything is fine” and it has been abbriviated to O.K in english; And then morphed into Okay and أوكى Okiez

By the way, the study of the “87%” percent at the first paragraph was totally fake but i bet you believed it

Before I go to Ras Mohammed, i tried to plan my trip before i go from online resources, as I usually do. Only to be surprised by the lack of information! there is NOTHING useful whatsoever about going to Ras Mohammed protectorate or on camping there.

So now after i came back, i decided to write this “homage” post explaining every thing you might need to know about camping in Ras Mohammed.

Here’s a summary followed by full details:

• Camping allowed: Yes
• Entrance time: 8:00am to 6:00pm
• Cost: 5LE entrance fee
• No permissions needed (everything done by the rangers at the gate)
• Mobile signal: everywhere
• Electricity: no
• Non salty water: at the gates (not available after 6:00pm)
• Distance from Sharm El Sheikh: 20km
• Toilets: not recommended
• Places to visit: Mangroove channel, Earthquake crack, Yolanda beach (diving), Main beach (snorkeling), Observatory beach (EXCELLENT scenery)
• Recommended Camping time: 3days 2 nights

Before i go, i called the protectorate on these numbers: (069)366-0668/0559 they are available from early in the morning (7:00am) to noon. I asked about permissions and entrance fees and time, they told me that i could enter from sunrise (i asked if 6:00am was ok, they said yes….but in real life it was no )

We arrived early, you’ll know you’re there when you see the huge statues at the gates shown in the picture below, you’ll also be around 20KM away from Sharm. We had to stay until 8:00am for the rangers to come
.

As soon as they came, they were very friendly, they checked our ID’s gave us the tickets, each ticket is 5LE + 5LE for the car. They asked if we will camp, and asked for how many days. They gave us a few information about the place and on where to camp.

We had a map of the protectorate and a GPS device (i’ll put the coordinates soon).

As soon as we entered, we headed to the Visitors center, there was only us there, we met one of the workers, he showed us a 20mins movie about the protectorate in the video room(it was nice, but it seemed rather old and boring).

We then had a glance at the museum in the visitors center, nothing really interesting there, but you’re not going to spend more than 15mins there anyway.

We then headed to the camping area, it’s just next to the laboratories building, it’s guarded by borders guards, they asked the same questions we got asked at the gates and let us in.

There are 3 main places to camp, each separated by a small hill which makes it private. The best one is the one in the middle, the beach is sandy and not full of rocks like the others, it’s nice if you have kids or don’t have your swimming shoes. Though the corals there are not as good the main beach or Yolanda beach, it’s nice if you’re too lazy to go anywhere else while camping.

We chose a place for our tent, unloaded our stuff and left them there. We then headed to the Mangroove channel (المنجروف). It’s nice to see all these trees growing from the salty water, it was a little bit crowded then, there was like 3 buses full of Italian visitors

We then headed to the earthquake crack(شق الزلزال), which is a huge crack in the land that was done by an earthquake, and the water started to flow in the crack.

Right next to it, there is the Magic Bay (الخليج المسحور), the water magically disappear and then reappears later in the same day!!! (i couldn’t see it happen, but a friend of mine did)

We then headed to the Observatory beach, where you climb a small mountain (hill), well, actually you don’t really climb, there are stairs. On the top of it, there is a telescope (?) and there is the MOST AMAZING VIEW YOU COULD EVER SEE. You’d see Aqaba bay and Suez bay at the same time, a lot of yachts, corals, turquoise water and a lot of birds and falcons.

We then tried to snorkel at the main beach, but it was too windy on that day and were cold and tired, so we headed back to the camp.

Here is a list of the stuff you need to bring with you:

• Sleeping bags (very important)
• A tent (to sleep in with the sleeping bag, not REALLY important, but it will help a lot with the ants, bees and flies)
• Swiss Knife (very handy)
• A butane stove (unless you want to eat raw, cold and tasteless food)
  
• Canned food, bread etc (you could also have some BBQ if you have an ice box)
• Ice box (if you have one, not really necessary)
• Water and drinks
• Candles (you could use empty bottles to put the candles in, use the swiss knife to cut them in halves)
• Flash light
• Camera + batteries
• GPS (if you have one)
• Hammock (if you have one )
• Music + book + entertainment stuff (a.k.a Games)
• Wood & coal to make camp fire (there is wood in the protectorate, right after the the camping area entrance, on the left, there is a huge pile of unused stuff, you can take wood from there, but it’s not guaranteed to fulfill all your needs, or to be there when you go )
• Matches & lighter
• Marshmallows (for camp fire )
• Waste bags
• Snorkeling gear (or diving gear)
• Swimming shoes (you don’t want to walk on the rocks\corals with bare foot)
• Insect repellent (OFF!) and insects killer (New Pyrosol, ra7et el zanna )
• First aid kit (didn’t use it, but could be handy)
• Plastic plates, cups, forks etc
• Toilet paper & Tissues
• Binoculars (if you have one)
• Jacket (could be a bit chilli)

You are not allowed to go outside the camping area or use your car after 6:00pm until 8:00am, but you can have a walk on the beach around the camping area.
There is nothing to do at night, except watching the stars, walking on the beach, listening to the waves, sitting around the camp fire, playing games, talking with friends, listening to music, reading a book, eating marshmallows, cooking tea on the camp fire.

You have to watch out from the ants and insects, they will attack as soon as they smell food and they are very persistent.

Do not worry about seeing flashing lights in the sky, it’s not UFOs, it’s the discotheques in Sharm El Sheikh.

It’s a great experience, you have to try it, it’s one of the most amazing places in the world, it’s really fun and you’ll never forget the adventure of camping there.

I found on the SandMonkey‘s a link for ISIS blog, she has relapsed into heroin addiction again.

Though i don’t know her, and i have been to her blog no more than a couple of times i would like to ask everyone to pray for her and for anyone in the same situation as her, to give them the will and strength to overcome this.

The reason am asking this is that I have seen people suffering because of this crap, and it turned their lives into misery, and trust me, IT IS VERY painful, i hope she could overcome this soon.
I hope no one EVER get in this situation again.

The sad thing, that it’s my own car.

Am a good driver (that’s what my friends say), am not a crazy maniac who thinks he’s in a video game, am not a slow driver either, i take really good care when crossing lanes, i always put my seat belt one (many people find this a VERY weird behavior in Cairo), and i always use my mirrors.

Also, i don’t mind AT ALL!!!! that my car gets damaged if am in ANY WAY responsible for it.

Its the third time now, my car got hit again…and i swear to God i was just driving STRAIGHT ahead on a speed like 40KMPH (i was driving on Nasr Road heading to Maadi at 9:00am you must know it’s very crowded that time, i can’t speed more than that)

Suddenly, to find some “shab saye3″ in a Mitsubishi Lancer, taking a “3′orza – غرزة” beside me, and somehow, he didn’t see me…so he ended up hitting my car from the side.

The hit was not really strong, specially that we’re moving slowly and THERE IS traffic (why the HELL would someone take a 3′orza in a place like this!) We stopped a few meters later, the guy came down, everyone is ok, we checked our cars, mine is scratched from the side and has blue painting from his car all over my right side of the car.

My front right passenger door is not opening smoothly.

I was starting to shout (like usual, when my car gets hit), then am surprised the guy is actually saying: “SORRY, My mistake”, at first i couldn’t believe my ears when i heard it and i go like: “are you still sleeping?what the hell is sorry going to do?” then he said sorry again, and i really calmed down, i told him it’s ok, nothing serious happened, he apologized again and we left.

So, what’s the morale of the story, you ask me? Well, he’s a bad driver or he was sleeping or whatever reason he done that stupid 3′orza, it’s ok, it happens (at least to me all the time), but he apologized, which was all i wanted, he admitted of being wrong, so i respect the guy, and that’s the only reason why i didn’t $*it on his face.

Although, am still FLAMING WITH ANGER for my car, and that i need to pay more to fix it, specially that IT IS NOT MY MISTAKE!!! AND THAT ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENS TO ME!!!WHY MEEEEE PLEASE LET IT NOT BE ME AGAIN!!!!

I hate those scratches in my car, i suffered a lot to get it, so it really hurts me bad when something happens to it, it’s like me being hit, not the car.

If you don’t know, i had 2 hits before:

• 1st day of Ramadan,  going to Maadi in the morning, (nazlet el ma3adi men 3al autostrad),  an woman in her early 50′s in a Lada, decided to stop down the hill (3al manzal) to ask for directions, if you know that area, you will know it barely fit 2 cars, specially that there are 2 separate ways just before it, so it’s a mess already, so the car behind her (a Jeep Cherokee)  hits her from the back, then me, behin the Jeep, ended up hitting the Jeep from the back.
  Offcourse, nothing happens to the Lada, or to the Jeep, but off course, my car is wrecked, my front light is broken and “الكبوت” is wrecked. As usual, no apology, nothing is said, the woman just left me in my misery.
• A few months earlier, i have the car parked in Salah Salem, asking for directions ,the Flasher is on, my parents are in the car, to find a Ramsees Microbus, hitting the car from behind on full speed (my parents are inside!), and taking the car all the way up on the pavement,
  
  I ran like crazy to check on my parents, they are ok, just some injuries, my car is totally damaged, hundreds of people grouped around us, each one trying to say his 2 cents, the driver come out of his microbus, we started to shout at each other, am in a very bad mood, i insult him, some people grabbing me from the back and want to beat me(????!!!!! DOHHHH ) it appears that they are his friends from the neighborhood (i was near the place they stop), they try to engage with me in a fight, next thing i know the guy drove like hell with his metal giant monster, everyone left saying to me “عوضك على الله” – god will replace it for you-  and i ended up paying 13,500LE to fix my car.

Oh, i forgot to mention, that someone followed him and got me the number (thank you dude i don’t know who got me the number), and i made a report in the police station, but nothing (off course, as expected) happened, even though i bribed them all!!!! i paid like 150LE for the officers and they promised they would help getting my revenge, but looks like it wasn’t enough.
